The engineering department claims explosion was accident
Well, first they denied it happened at all, but when confronted with the smoking hole that had once been the Beadle & Grimm’s Pandemonium Research Department and Hookah Lounge, they first blamed Kobolds, then the Marketing Department before finally putting most of the blame on Bob, a junior Engineer who’d gone missing in the explosion.
and it’s all coming up platinum.
Beadle & Grimm’s Pandemonium Warehouse is thrilled to announce its second Platinum Edition, this time for Baldur’s Gate: Descent into Avernus.
After putting out the Platinum Edition of Waterdeep: Dragon Heist last year, and the soon to be released Sinister Silver Edition of Ghosts of Saltmarsh, Beadle & Grimm’s is ready for more Platinum madness.
What kind of madness? Well, read and watch some of the reviews of the Platinum Edition of Waterdeep: Dragon Heist right here.
HOle goes straight to hell. Platinum Discovered. Also demons.
The platinum is currently being mined and delivered to the production teams, and the Demons have formed a management consultancy and are reviewing company process and compliance. The head Demon in charge turns out to be Bob, the aforementioned engineer, who seems to have been promoted in death.
demon Bob promises stack rankings. execution of bottom 10% performers.on time delivery.
In possibly related news, Grimm has lost his rights to sign contracts, addendums, or codicils.
Loading up the box
We’re still in the early stages of production, so things may still move around a bit, but here’s the kind of awesomeness that we’re going to be loading up into this Platinum Edition.
And if you want to see what we crammed into the last one, check here.
When can we see the actual images from the Platinum Edition?
We have gotten to the ripe age we are by never, ever angering lawyers. All the images here, with the exception of the Infernal Machine, are from other Beadle & Grimm’s products and are intended to show you the kind of awesomeness we make without providing spoilers or other reasons for lawyers to use their writs of wounding against us.
The Infernal Machine, in all its infernalness, is a render and not yet a final thing.
Battles done right. We provide kick ass battle maps for your biggest fights, and the most epic moments of the adventure. Mounted on dry erase board, you can mark spell effects, fallen enemies, or heaven forfend, the remains of your party.
Artifacts and trinkets
Badges (which you do need), coins, other things so diabolical we can barely bring ourselves to name them…
They’re in there! Real, physical items that you can hand to your characters to wear, study, or fear.
Check out a gallery of our previous pieces of jewelry for some ideas.
Early days yet, so we’re not sure if they’ll all be diabolical, but pretty much yes, diabolical.
Fangs up front, stats in the back. Let your players feast their eyes on what they’re fighting, while all the stats for monsters, and important role-playing info for NPCs, is heads up behind the DM Screen (which, of course, we’re also making).
Kind of like we did for Ghosts of Saltmarsh.
And then there’s this… Thing.
Note the wheel of death up front. You can only get that bad boy in the Platinum Edition of Baldur’s Gate: Descent into Avernus. It’s a Beadle & Grimm’s exclusive feature (thanks WizKids!). Now go run over a demon or two. They make very satisfying crunching sounds.
so when does the madness begin?
It has begun! You’re soaking in it!

So when does it actually ship?
Wizards drops Baldur’s Gate: Descent into Avernus in September. We start shipping in October.
what else is in the box?
Take a look at the Platinum Edition of Waterdeep: Dragon Heist for ideas, but there’s only so much we can reveal now before the full module is released. But you can expect, nay, demand, that it will be even more epic than last year’s Platinum Edition. We are in our ascension.
Will you include a D&D Beyond code in the Platinum Edition?
How many are you going to make?
We’re making 1000.
But what happens when we run out? Are we going to make more?
No. No we are not.
So how should that change your behavior? That’s up to you. But we did run out of the Platinum Edition of Waterdeep: Dragon Heist, so choose wisely.
